Dave Sikula  is an engineer, producer and guitarist from the Vancouver, BC area. Starting at Demitone Productions in the fall of 2009, Dave has since been involved with countless sessions ranging from voice-over sessions and soundtracks for television and film to front-to-back production of several album projects ranging stylistically from jazz to pop to Persian classical music.  For Cory Weeds’ Cellar Live Records, Dave has recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered several titles by artists such as Peter Bernstein, Miles Black, Oliver Gannon, Mike LeDonne, Steve Kaldestad, and Louis Hayes.  Recorded and mixed by Dave in 2013, “The Ian McDougall 12tet Live” was nominated for Traditional Jazz Album of the year at the 2014 Juno awards.  In 2015, Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band’s – “Live at Cory Weeds Cellar Jazz Club” spent two weeks at number 1 on the Jazzweek chart (primary US jazz radio airplay).

 

Dave is also active as guitarist with his own trio and quartet, Dan Gaucher’s “Monk’s Music”, Jesse Cahill’s “Nightcrawlers” and “Inhabitants”. In addition to providing services as recording engineer, Dave is also available as a producer, arranger, music copyist, and session guitarist.

 

Demitone was founded in August of 2005 by Kelly Becker who has worked in the music industry as a musician, composer, arranger, and producer for 15 years prior to founding the company. Kelly has numerous musical credits as a musician/songwriter enabling him the creative control to bring his clients' visions to life.
